KENNETH ARMITAGE FOUNDATION AWARDS 2018

The trustees of the Foundation would like to thank all who participated in this year’s awards.  We congratulate the winners and especially commend the runners-up on the shortlists.  The following announcement will be made on our website and via our Instagram page @kennetharmitagefoundation on the 28th June 2018.

Post-graduate Prize

A monetary prize, currently £7500, is awarded annually to a post-graduate sculpture student chosen from the Royal College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art, two colleges with which the sculptor Kenneth Armitage was involved.  Students were invited to submit an application and the Foundation was delighted at the number and quality of the submissions.

 The shortlist for the 2018 prize was:

 Rodrigo Arteaga Abarca (Slade)

Zhixuan Feng (RCA)

James Fuller (RCA)

Hester Moriaty-Thompson (RCA)

Hannah Regel (Slade)

Grzegorz Stefanski (Slade)

The winner was JAMES FULLER.

 

Graduate Prize

A monetary prize, currently £3000, is awarded annually to a graduate sculpture student from the Bath School of Art and Design and the Leeds College of Art, two further colleges in which the sculptor Kenneth Armitage was involved.  Students were invited to submit an application and the Foundation was again delighted at the number and quality of the submissions.

 The shortlist for the 2018 prize was:

 Pace Frith (Bath)

Allan Gardner (Leeds)

William Hughes (Bath)

Sonia Moran (Leeds)

The winner was WILLIAM HUGHES.

 The trustees congratulate the winners, those who reached the shortlists and all who made submissions, and wish them all successful and satisfying futures.
